Introduction to 2012-2013 EHS Senior Class LDS Seminary

About Seminary

This is the Blog for the 2012-2013 Eaglecrest High School Senior Class Seminary, LDS Church. We meet at 6:00 am each day prior to school for 45 minutes at the LDS Church across the street from Eaglecrest High School. This year's course of study is the New Testament. All Seniors are welcome to attend.

This is early morning seminary sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It occurs each morning of School (almost) from 6:00 to 6:45 before school. Our course of study this year is the New Testament. All Seniors at EHS are invited to attend. It is an opportunity to study the Bible and learn about the teachings of Jesus Christ before meeting the challenges of the school day. It is a GREAT way to start the day.

Purpose of this Blog
The main purpose of this blog is to share the make-up work for those who cannot attend seminary class. In order to graduate from Seminary this year, a student is required to have 80% attendance. If a student cannot attend seminary one day, they can do the make-up work defined in this blog for that day and turn in evidence of the completion of this make-up work to Brother Brent Reid. He will grade the work and determine if it is adequate. If so, the student will be given credit for that day.

To make-up a day of seminary, it is required that a student do "time-for-time" meaning that it is expected that the student will do the make-up assignment for the day and spend at least 40 minutes doing so. If the make-up assignment for that day does not take 40 minutes, then the student is expected to choose another assignment and do it as well until they have been working on the assignment for a minimum of 40 minutes.

Makeup assignments will mostly be taken from the New Testament Seminary Student Study Guide. A student may order their own copy of this Student Study Guide from http://store.lds.org

The Study Guide costs $7.00.

A make-up assignment will be posted for each day of Seminary. To make up a day of seminary, choose the day you missed; find the make-up assignment on the blog; spend at least 40 minutes doing the assignment; do reading and writing assignments; generate evidence that you completed the work and present it to Brother Reid the next day in Seminary.
